Meet Laura Bland

Laura Bland

My name is: Laura Bland

I am a: Health and Fitness Coach and Mentor

I’m 37 years old, have a 6 year old daughter and live with her and my partner in Leicestershire in the UK, I currently work part time in HR but I’m looking to drive my business forwards so I can make that my full time focus. I’ve always been into fitness in an on/off way but it’s only been in the last year that I have decided to take that passion and start to help others.

Over the last 9 years myself and my partner have been through life changing decisions due to an injury that he sustained at work. After years of living with chronic pain he had to undergo amputation surgery of his lower right leg, at the time our daughter was only 15 months old and this put pressure on me emotionally, mentally and physically. It was this that eventually led to me finding home workouts as a way to get back into shape without having to leave my partner and daughter. I’ve managed to transform by body and my mind and find a much more confident self that had been buried away.

I have definitely found my purpose

My mission is: to help as many women as possible to re-find themselves and their confidence through my programs. I offer workouts that can be done at home and can be accessed and completed by anyone regardless of current fitness level.

The extra bit though is the daily support and encouragement that I provide to help keep people on track and to give them a safe space where there is no judgement.

My biggest achievement: so far is being able to share more of my story in Mumpreneur on Fire 3 and just having the courage to help and inspire others.

I would tell my younger self: If I had the chance to go back and talk to my younger self I would tell her not to give up, that it does get easier, that the sun continues to rise and that my family is worth all the heartache we have been through.

Best advise to other women: I would say the same to others – do not give up, ask for help when you need to, don’t be afraid to let others in and to allow them to see you when you feel vulnerable.

I admire about me: In terms of me I admire my relentless tenacity and refusal to let things keep me down, i’m the annoying person that always likes to see the best in a situation and not focus on the negative.

My woman Crush Wednesday: I have 2 women crush’s – Estell Keeber from Mums in Business Association, she is a single parent working crazy hard every single day to achieve her dreams and build an amazing life for her family and my other crush is Rachel Hollis, I just love the things she has to say right now.
